Augustus William Ennes - The Herring Fleet
Augustus William Ennes (1876 - 1948)

He studied at the Slade School of art and at the Academie Julian in Paris where he
was a student under Gervais. He depicted many rural views in the South of
England and also travelled to Venice and Concarneau, France. He lived in Kent and
St John’s Wood and his studio was based in Kensington. He was widely
represented in British public galleries and exhibited 6 times at the Royal Academy
between 1908 and 1937
