Andrew King ROI IEA EAGMA

Andrew's professional career began after studying Fine Art at Hornsey College, London. Upon graduation he was awarded a 'David Murray' scholarship (landscape painting) by the Royal Academy School. He maintains a connection to the RA through membership of their Alumni Reynolds Club (RASA). Andrew has exhibited his work with the 'Royal Institute of Oil Painters' (ROI) since 1985 when he was a finalist for the Windsor & Newton Young Artists Award, and the following year he was made an associate member of the society.

In 1992 he was elected to full membership of the ROI and has served on the Council. Andrew Has had work selected many times for exhibition at The Mall Galleries, London, including the 'Britain in Watercolours' exhibition, the 'National Society' (elected a member in 1984), the 'Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours', the 'New English Art Club', the Royal Society of Portrait Painters' and the 'Royal Society of Marine Artists'. He has also had work accepted for the 'Discerning Eye' exhibition and has exhibited a number of times at the Open Exhibition of the 'Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour' at the Bankside Gallery, London.

Andrew has been a member of the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists (EAGMA) since 1997, and is the Hon. Secretary. He is also a founder member of the Institute of East Anglian Artists (IEA) and currently serves on the committee. Andrew's name can be referenced in 'Who's Who in Art' and also 'Who's Who in International Art'.
