Artist biography:
Born in Brazil of French Parents he was a pupil of Lalanne. He first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1874 and at the Society of French Artists in 1883. He won various medals at the Salon, including a silver in 1900. He was created a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour in 1895. His work is in many public collections including the Petit Palais in Paris and the museums at Anvers and Chambery. He specialised in painting the environs of Paris and in paticular fete scenes.
